Checklist Details
- [ ] 1. Screen set-up for success
- Ensure your computer screen is set up correctly and in a way that sets you up for efficiency when completing and transitioning to new tasks.
- [ ] 2. Evaluate Makers time
- Review the calendar and budget your Makers time for the day.
- What you can get done in terms of tasks depends on how much time you have available. How much time is on the calendar when you’re not in a meeting?
- Get a sum of the hours and assess the structure of the day to determine what you can get done today.
- [ ] 3. Are there any completed tasks?
- Look over your My Task view and determine if there are any tasks that are completed or no longer relevant. Mark those as complete and remove them from your view.
- [ ] 4. Accept recently assigned tasks
- Review and Accept any "Recently Assigned" tasks.
- Delegate or move to "Today", "Upcoming," or "Later" depending on priority and bandwidth.
- Do you need to follow up on any requests to calibrate expectations of who will receive the task or when you can get something completed?
- [ ] 5. Determine the order of tasks in the Today section
- Order and filter the "Today" Section in Asana.
- Make sure that what you have in your Asana Today section is the right collection of Action Items.
- Mark completed if they are done or no longer relevant.
- Move those that are no longer a top priority to the upcoming or later section
- [ ] 6. Move any tasks from the Upcoming section
- Review and Upgrade the "Upcoming" Section in Asana.
- Make sure you are not missing items that are important from the upcoming section today.
- Consider removing or updating tasks you didn't get to in 10 days.
- [ ] 7. Inbox Review
- Run a review of the Inbox.
- Empty Draft folder.
- Handle anything in the Please Handle folder.
- Review FYI and archive if appropriate.
